Export the CSV from Starling
- 1
Open Statements and documents
In the Starling app menu, choose Statements and documents, then Statement history.
- 2
Choose the period
Select the statement period you want to import.
- 3
Export CSV
Choose CSV, select Standard or Certified when prompted, and keep the downloaded file unchanged.
These steps were checked against the bank's current statement download guide. Labels can change when its app or website is updated.
Which Starling export mooola can import
mooola currently recognises selected standard or certified statement csv exports. Support is based on the CSV structure, not only the filename or bank name.
Import the CSV into mooola
- 1
Choose Starling
Open Import data in mooola and select Starling.
- 2
Select the original CSV
Choose the unchanged CSV downloaded from Starling. mooola checks the file structure before importing transactions.
- 3
Review the import
Compare the imported dates and amounts with the original export, review the import summary, then tap Done.
If the Starling CSV does not import
- Confirm you selected the CSV export described in this guide rather than a PDF, spreadsheet, payment receipt, or account-confirmation document.
- Use the original download without opening and resaving it in spreadsheet software, which can change dates, separators, decimals, or encoding.
- Check that the file contains transaction rows for the selected period, not only balances or a summary.
- The bank may have changed its headers or your account language may produce a variation that is not recognised yet.
Your Starling CSV stays on your device
mooola reads the selected CSV locally. It does not connect to Starling, request banking credentials, or upload the file for parsing. Temporary file-picker copies are removed after import.
