Download a stamped statement from the Absa app

Absa’s current Banking App help guide gives the following steps:

  • Log in to the Absa Banking App.
  • On the home page, select the relevant account.
  • Open the Statements tab.
  • Select Download stamped statement (.pdf).
  • Choose the date range for the statement.
  • Tap Download, then Done.

Save or share the original PDF directly to your device. Absa may adjust labels or navigation as its app changes, so consult the official Absa Banking App help guide if these options look different.

Check that you have the right Absa document

Absa offers several documents for different jobs. A stamped statement, ordinary monthly statement, transaction view, bank confirmation letter, proof of payment, and tax certificate are not interchangeable. Use the Absa statements and documents guide if you are unsure which one you need.

  • The file should be the original digital stamped-statement PDF downloaded from Absa.
  • You should be able to select transaction text when the PDF is open.
  • Do not unlock, print to PDF, edit, recompress, merge, or convert the file.
  • A bank confirmation letter proves account details but does not contain the transaction history mooola imports.
  • An emailed eStatement or archive statement may use a different layout and is not automatically supported.

mooola supports selected Absa layouts, not every PDF Absa can produce. An original file can still be rejected when its document type or layout is not yet supported.

Import the Absa statement into mooola

  1. 1

    Choose Absa

Open Import data in mooola and choose Absa.

  2. 2

    Select the original PDF

Use the file picker to select the stamped-statement PDF downloaded from the Absa app. mooola identifies the document layout and validates the transaction structure locally.

  3. 3

    Review and finish

Read the summary for new, updated, unchanged, or ignored transactions, then tap Done.

If the Absa statement does not import

  • Confirm that you selected Download stamped statement, rather than a transaction view, proof of account, proof of payment, or tax document.
  • Open the PDF and confirm that transaction text is selectable.
  • Use the file downloaded directly from Absa without editing or converting it.
  • Try a statement for a conventional transactional account; credit-card, home-loan, business, and other account statements can use different layouts.
  • A changed or unusual Absa layout may not yet be supported.

Importing overlapping date ranges

It is safe to import a later statement that overlaps previous dates. mooola reconciles matching transactions and explains the result in the import summary rather than blindly adding everything again.

Your statement remains private

The PDF is parsed on your device. mooola does not connect to Absa or upload your statement for processing, and it never asks for bank credentials. Temporary file-picker copies are removed after import.
