Download a stamped statement in the Absa Banking App

  1. 1

    Open the account

Log in to the Absa Banking App and select the relevant account from the home page.

  2. 2

    Open Statements

Tap the Statements tab, then choose Download stamped statement (.pdf).

  3. 3

    Choose the period

Select the date range, tap Download, then tap Done.

  4. 4

    Keep the original file

Save or share the original PDF without printing, scanning, recompressing, or converting it if you plan to import it into mooola.

These steps follow Absa's current Banking App help. Labels may change as the app is updated.

Download ordinary, archived, home-loan, or credit-card statements

For an ordinary statement in Online Banking, Absa directs users to select the account, open Statements, choose an archive statement and month range, then download the required file. Its newer Online Banking help also describes selecting an account, entering a date range, and choosing Download now.

For a home-loan e-stamped statement, Absa's app guide directs users to the Home Loan account, then Statements and Download stamped statement. Credit-card statements have a separate flow that begins from the credit-card account and lets the user choose the required statement and available file format.

Confirmation letters, tax certificates, and proofs of payment are different documents

Bank confirmation letter

Use this when an organisation needs proof of your account-holder and banking details rather than transaction history. Absa says it is available from the Banking App's Documents area and through the selected account in Online Banking.

Tax certificate

In the Banking App, open the tax-certificate area, select the tax year and certificate type, then download the document. Online Banking also provides a tax-certificate workflow. A tax certificate is not a replacement for a bank statement.

Proof or notice of payment

This relates to one specific payment. Use the payment or transaction-history workflow for that payment. It does not provide the account-wide transaction history required for statement analysis.

Open a password-protected Absa eStatement

Absa describes eStatements as password-protected PDF attachments delivered by email. Read the cover email for the password instructions that apply to that statement; do not guess or rely on an unofficial password formula.

Absa's eStatement page says the attachment can be opened with Adobe Reader or Striata Reader and provides installation guidance for Striata. If an email attachment will not save or open, return to the official Banking App or Online Banking statement-download workflow, or contact Absa through an official support channel.

Can you download an Absa statement as CSV?

Absa's public help pages describe statement downloads and, for some products, choosing an available file format. They do not establish that every Absa account can export transaction history as CSV. Check the options shown for the specific account in the Banking App or Online Banking.

Do not convert an Absa PDF to another format and assume the result is equivalent to a bank-issued CSV. Converted files can lose transaction structure, direction, balances, or references. The mooola Absa importer currently expects selected original digital PDFs.

Which Absa statement can mooola import?

mooola supports selected original digital Absa e-stamped transaction-history PDF layouts for conventional transactional accounts. It does not connect to Absa, request banking credentials, or upload the statement for parsing.

Use the dedicated Absa import guide to check the supported file and import steps, or try the local Absa PDF-to-CSV tool. Home-loan statements, general Absa credit-card statements, confirmation letters, tax certificates, proofs of payment, scans, and screenshots are not supported by the Absa importer.

Frequently asked questions

Does Absa issue stamped bank statements?

Yes. Absa documents a stamped-statement download in its Banking App and says stamped statements are also available through Online Banking or an Absa ATM.

How do I get proof of my Absa banking details?

Download a bank confirmation letter rather than a transaction statement. Absa says the letter is available through the Banking App's Documents area and through Online Banking.

Where do I find an Absa tax certificate?

Use the tax-certificate area in the Banking App or Online Banking, select the relevant tax year and certificate type, then download the document.

What password opens an Absa eStatement?

Use the password instructions in the cover email delivered with that eStatement. Do not rely on an unofficial password formula.

Can mooola import every Absa statement?

No. Support is layout-specific and currently covers selected original digital e-stamped transaction-history PDFs for conventional transactional accounts.
