How to get older FNB statements and transaction history

Find historical statements, check that your download covers the whole period, and distinguish limited activity lists from full bank statements.

If an FNB transaction list stops before the period you need, look for the account’s statement history rather than assuming the visible list is the complete record. A recent-activity screen, a monthly statement and a Connect usage history serve different purposes.

For expense tracking, the aim is a set of original statements covering the whole period. A download that opens successfully is not enough if dates or transactions are missing.

Does FNB limit downloads to 150 transactions?

Some FNB history views have limits. Its digital-banking page describes up to three months of transfer history, with a footnote limiting it to 150 entries. Separately, FNB Connect usage history displays the last 150 transactions or calls for that telecoms service. Neither description establishes a universal limit on full bank-account statements.

If you searched for “FNB historic transaction download more than 150”, use the account’s statement history to obtain the missing period, then check every file’s dates and pages. A transfer list is not a complete record of purchases, fees and other account activity. For Connect calls or usage, FNB lists an itemised-billing request separately.

What you needWhere to look
Bank-account activity over past monthsThe account’s Statements or Statement History options.
A credit-card statementThe credit-card account’s statement history, rather than another account’s activity list.
Connect calls or SIM usageFNB Connect transaction history or itemised billing.
Business statements through Online Banking EnterpriseThe statement-history workflow for that platform and your user permissions.

If your bank transaction export stops at 150 rows, record the exact screen and date range when asking FNB how to retrieve the rest. We have not verified a universal personal-banking CSV workaround; compare the export with the account’s complete statements.

Find statements in the FNB App

FNB’s illustrated statement guide shows selecting an account, opening Statements and choosing a PDF. It also shows an older-statement search and indicates that some statements may have a charge. The illustrations are older, so use them as orientation rather than a promise of today’s exact screen labels or pricing.

For a credit-card statement

  1. Sign in to the app and open Accounts from the menu.
  2. Select the credit-card account, then Statement History.
  3. Choose the statement and supply the email address requested.
  4. Confirm the selection and finish the request.

These credit-card steps follow FNB’s digital-banking help. They should not be assumed to describe every transactional or business account.

If you use Online Banking Enterprise

FNB publishes a separate Online Banking Enterprise statement guide. It describes My bank accounts → Menu → Statement History, followed by choosing the account and statement dates.

That workflow offers statement verification and email delivery. Review the address, any verification option and the displayed terms and costs before confirming. The guide distinguishes recent statements from older requests that can incur charges; check the current price for your account rather than relying on an old amount.

This is a business-platform workflow. If it does not match your personal banking screen, return to that account’s statement options or ask FNB which channel can provide the period you need.

Check that the files cover the whole period

  1. Match the account. Confirm that each file belongs to the account or card you intended to download.
  2. Check the printed start and end dates. Do not infer coverage from the filename alone.
  3. Keep all pages. Check for missing continuation pages and retain the original digital PDF.
  4. Check gaps between files. Collect the missing period before treating the history as complete.
  5. Check overlaps. Do not manually total overlapping statements as if every row were new activity.

If a transaction export is truncated, a smaller date range may help you investigate whether it is a display or export limit, but it is not a verified universal workaround. Confirm completeness against the bank-issued statements. If older dates are unavailable, ask FNB about an archive request and its charge before proceeding.

Use your history for spending analysis

Once the period is complete, the FNB import guide explains which original statement layouts mooola can read. A file being issued by FNB does not guarantee that every account type or layout is supported.

For a spreadsheet, use the FNB PDF-to-CSV converter with supported digital PDFs. It cannot retrieve older records from your bank or restore transactions absent from the file. Browser-converter and mobile-app compatibility can differ.

After import, review the result against the original period and balances. Then use the personal cash-flow guide to separate income, spending and transfers across accounts.

Sources and scope

FNB’s official Connect, digital-banking and illustrated statement guides linked above were checked on 29 October 2026. Platform differences and older illustrations are identified where relevant. No universal bank-account transaction limit, archive retention period or current download fee was established. mooola is independent of FNB.
